Know thyself.
When you add someone as a friend on some of the social websites, they ask you: "How well do you know this person?" or "Do you trust this person?" Well.. my question here is: "How well do you know yourself? And whether you trust yourself, or not?"
Most, if not all, of the people would say: "No one knows me better than I do." & "If I don't trust myself, who would I trust?" You know something, that's not completely true, now, is it?
Think about it, when someone asks you an unexpected question, you stop for a few seconds & sometimes even a minute or two to think about it to find the answer that, you think, is true. But is it?
Sometimes we behave in ways that are shocking, even to us. I'm not sure if that means that we don't know ourselves, but it does imply it, doesn't it? We might understand what did and why we did it later on, but it does mean that at that precise moment of time, we didn't understand or know ourselves as much as we thought we did.
Knowing more about yourself, in my opinion, helps you becoming a better person, because, well.. we would know our negatives, our objectives, our motivations.. etc. and we would trying harder on working out ways to enhance the good stuff and reduce the bad ones, and by doing that, we'll be more ourself than someone else and trust ourselves more.
